Nutrition recommendation for chronic kidney disease arose as a result of the efforts of the Working Group of the Polish Nephrological Society. Information on the role of diet, nutrition status assessment and nutritional recommendations at specific stages of the disease, including patients after kidney transplantation, has been collected and organized in individual chapters. Particular attention was paid to such problems as hyperphosphataemia and vitamins and microelements disturbances in this group of patients. The authors’ goal was to highlight practical aspects of nutrition in chronic kidney disease.
